The Africa Alternative Investment Intensive brings together a practitioner-led ecosystem of institutional and private investors with appetite to build alternative asset portfolio across Africa. The Intensive places emphasis on what works and what doesn't work when investing in infrastructure, real estate, impact investing, alternative credit, private equity and debt.

The AAII brings together an ecosystem of asset owners and managers that are committed to addressing the principal blocks to institutions with a strong appetite to build alternative assets portfolios in Africa. It is an open exchange driven by knowledge sharing and with emphasis on product innovations and strategies for risk-adjusted returns.

The Intensives are tailored to build capacity and capability of pension funds and insurance professionals to make productive investments that support their liability exposure, whilst providing sources of long-term capital required for economic and development impact.

At the forums, managers with expertise in alternative assets – private equity, private debt, agribusiness, infrastructure, hedge and real estate investing in Africa will share their insights and investment strategies including a spotlight on recent investments.

Institutional investors with active investments in the region, including Africa based investors, global pension plans, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and regional family offices will provide first‐hand perspectives on investing in Africa.

Africa Infrastructure Debt Immersion (AIDI)

Infrastructure debt solutions have proven to offer pension funds and insurance companies in developed markets long-dated, stable, cashflow-driven returns. Across Africa the principal blocks to institutions wishing to invest in infrastructure is the absence of long-term debt structures, but rather a relatively limited range of funds and individual projects that don’t offer the diversification of risk required. This intensive looks at debt instruments that can help investors access creditworthy infrastructure assets across the continent.

2nd Africa Private Equity & Debt Intensive (APEDI)

Gain direct access to the most active institutional and private investors, as well as fund managers transforming Africa's Private Equity (& Debt) and Permanent Capital landscape. The intensive is a closed and invitation-only session designed to foster dialogue, interaction, and introductions between LP/GP active in African markets. APEDI takes place just before the EMPEA Global Private Equity Conference.

Rwanda Alternative Investment Intensive (RAII)

The Rwanda Alternative Investment Intensive (RAII) brings together senior investment professionals and industry stakeholders for critical and thought-provoking discussions on how the public and private sector can work together to successfully navigate Rwanda’s rapidly growing, risky, illiquid and relatively non-transparent alternatives markets.
